Lactation Boosting Cookies Part 1

While blog hopping I found this:

http://blog.secretmothersclub.com/tag/lactation-cookies/

So I will just copy and paste it here.....

So here it is, the recipe for Lactation Boosting Cookies:

* 1 cup butter or marg
* 1 cup sugar
* 1 cup brown sugar
* 4 tablespoons water
* 2 tablespoons flaxseed meal*
* 2 large eggs
* 1 teaspoon vanilla
* 2 cups flour
* 1 teaspoon baking soda
* 1 teaspoon salt
* 3 cups oats, thick cut if you can get them
* 1 cup or more chocolate chips
* 2 tablespoons of brewers yeast* (be generous)

Directions:
Preheat oven at 375 degrees F. Mix together 2 tablespoons of flaxseed meal and water, set aside for 3-5 minutes. Cream (beat well) margarine and sugar. Add eggs one at a time, mix well. Stir flaxseed mixture and add with vanilla to the margarine mix. Beat until blended. Sift together dry ingredients, except oats and chips. Add to margarine mixture. Stir in oats then chips. Scoop or drop onto baking sheet, preferably lined with parchment or silpat. The dough is a little crumbly, so it helps to use a scoop.
Bake 8-12 minutes, depending on size of cookies.
Serves: 6 dozen cookies
Preparation time: 15 minutes
*can be found at any local health food store.

*NOTE* IT MUST BE BREWERS YEAST, NO SUBSTITUTIONS.
It makes a hell of a lot of cookies, so freeze the dough to use later!

Little Caliphs Year End Party

Very funny day today.. :)

Momy dressed up early to attend this, as informed by teacher Faiza we need to be at the said venue  at 8.00 a.m. When we arrived there the teachers werent there yet. There were a few parents was waiting. Oh God, it was actually rehearsal in the morning session, so parents need not to be there. Mommy is over excited as always. So, mommy & baba went home and left Hannan to rehearse their stage presentation. Hannan will be singing ablution song with her friends. She has been practising this for weeks.

Ablution song by 5 yo presentation:

And, here,.. see,.. she was so distracted when Momy stand in front of the stage to take this photo!!! and... see, how cute she is! :P well, like momy perasantan. heh heh heh (read you dont see this)

And the final event is.....

Jeng Jeng Jeng!!

Can you guess? what number she got? hi hi hi... I dont wanna say it! but trust me Hannan, Momy & Baba really proud of you!  Mommy and Baba will always adore you and loves you. Muaaachhss!!  Mommy sayang Hannan. Always remember that, okay?  :)

WHY do we need sorting activities?

Our kid will benefit from having lots of experiences sorting, comparing and classifying objects before participating in patterning activities. This is also vital for their maths basics. I would say crucial for young child prepare for future classroom success too!

Hani really loves sorting activities. I never teach her... she just love to categorize things, sorting things and a well organized thing.  From my observation, she is a very organized person it seems (at 3 yo). No matter what she prefer it to be organized and neat...  see what she did.. categorized by color!

Momy needs to take part in her activity. So, this is the planning, need to get good time to do various type of sorting activities with her.

Sorting by Size
Take a couple of carrots or cheese sticks and cut then into segments of varying sizes. Encourage your preschooler to line up the various segments by size. Since carrots or cheese sticks are great for lining up either while lying down or standing up, you can make two sorting activities with the help of these nutritious snacks. Other materials to use are spaghetti, broken crayons, or celery stalks.

Sorting to Match
A precursor to the memory enhancing matching games, sorting activities for preschoolers that incorporate early matching are vital. Use a wide array of pasta sizes, shapes, and also colors. Empty all of the pastas into a big tub, shake it up, and show your toddler how to take out one particular kind of pasta shape. Next, ask the child to find others that match. Vary the sorting exercise by including shape as well as size and color matches.

Incorporating Sequence Recognition
One of the most advanced forms of sorting -- the recognition of sequences -- is a precursor for kindergarten mathematics. Use the carrots, cheese sticks, crayons, or pasta from the previous sorting activities; create an easy to recognize pattern, for example: one carrot piece, one pasta, one carrot piece, and so forth. Ask the preschooler to guess what comes next, and continue on the sequence sorting activity for a bit. As the child progresses in understanding the sequence sorting activities, you can make it as difficult and intricate as you like.

Plane day :)

Today is independence day..  and luckily momy is off today!~ isn't that good? :)  actually nothing much to do today... as usual BBH is busy with his pokoks, me with cleaning & HFY..  of course. While doing cleaning momy found a box of unassemble aeroplanes.. I believed it was from BBH old days... so Momy took it out and gave it to Hannan. Hannan is sooo excited trying to assemble it. It is pretty hard because of the tiny2 parts. Then momy was trying to help until hooked up and ended up like Momy was the one lebey2 :P  (that was someone's saying :P)  and see... who was sooo busy helping Hannan  :P  or enjoying the game?

For you BaBaHa,

You might not be perfect, but you are great father, You're not die hardly romantic, but then you are caring and loving...  You're not good at cooking, but then you're good at buying,.. ahaahhaha.. I love you, B0nc!

Hannan’s thinking

19032010135 (Small)
Yesterday while picking up Hannan from her school we had a few chat. Was kinda long. Then I decided to go to Carrefour which is near to our house. I was telling her that I was about to call her grandpa (my dad of course!)

Me : I am thinking of calling Tuk Ayah. You know, he is my dad. Exactly like Baba is your Dad

Hannan : OoOOo… {with a smile on her face}

Me : My father is a very good man. He was never angry at me last time because I was a very good girl.

Hannan : Ye ke..  {like doubting what I said}

Me : Yeah lah, he is not like your Baba, he is angry at you if you dont behave, right?..  He even pinch if you are naughty. I think your Baba is not good lah, he is bad. Isn’t he?  (Provocative Mom is trying to see inside her girl’s head)

Hannan : {Kinda quiet while thinking…. }….

Me : Betul tak?… Betul kan…

Hannan : No.., I think you are bad, because sometimes if I am naughty, you scolded me and pinched me.

HA HA HA,… padan muka cantik mommy!  Kwang Kwang Kwang

Me : No Hannan, actually both of us loves you,.. that is why we scold you if you do wrong, so Hannan can be a very good girl, clever.. blah blah blah....  If you behave, we would never scold you, right?.. If momy tell you to stop fighting with your sister, you should, right?...

Hannan : OK

Dalam hati : I should not ask at the first place!

Review : Philips Avent ISIS Manual

Product Dimensions: 7.7 x 3 x 9 inches ; 2 pounds
Shipping Weight: 14.4 ounces

This pump actually came to me as a saviour when I need a partner for my Medela Mini E. Single pumping took me around 20 mins for each pumping session, so I decided to get another pump to cut half of the time used with my Medela Mini E. N I tell you, it works!  and I would recommend this for mothers with larger nipples compared to Medela standard breast shield which is smaller. I noticed that this pump really emptied my *b and I managed to get 6-10 oz for every 4 hours pumping session. So, if you want to pump while traveling or just to relieve engorgement, this is definitely the pump for you!

Review:

Pros
- Soft massage cushion 'petals' helps to stimulate a natural let-down reflex (really emptied my *b) and COMFY   :=))
- Easy to Assemble and Use
- Able to control suction (depending on how you squeeze the handle)
- Portable and light
- Very quiet
- Hooks right up to Avent bottles
- Recommended to use while nursing and pumping at the same time. I loveee… especially when husband drive I can pump and nurse my baby hfy.

Cons
- Taking more time than the electric pump as this is a single pump
- Hands can be tired due to pumping ( I hate this!)
- Might not be suitable for mothers with extra size breast (larger nipples).
